A cage for Sony A7 IV, A7S III, A7R IV and A1 designed for use with the VG-C4EM battery grip.

Mounting and access

The cage is mounted using a 1/4”-20 screw at the bottom and two side lock adapters in the strap holes. The design ensures continued access to buttons, card slots, the battery door and the flip-out monitor. Rubber pads prevent scratches on the camera body and an included magnetic tool simplifies assembly and disassembly.

Accessory mounts

A cold shoe mount on top supports microphones or LED lights. A NATO rail on the left side is compatible with SmallRig NATO Handle 2427 and 3260. For low-angle shots or monitor mounting, the cage features 1/4”-20 threaded holes and ARRI 3/8″-16 mounting holes. The front bottom support has two 1/4”-20 threaded holes for rod clamps used with matte boxes, follow focus systems or lens supports.

Tripods and stabilisers

The bottom features an Arca Swiss quick release plate for fast transitions between tripod and handheld use. Lower 1/4”-20 holes allow the mounting of a DJI RS 2/RSC 2 Quick Release Plate (Upper) with two screws. Constructed from aluminium and stainless steel, the cage measures 160 x 146 x 66 mm and weighs 248 g.
