These are the things that run out, fill up or break in the middle of a day of shooting: batteries, chargers, memory cards and storage. A spare battery is chosen by the code on the battery of the camera, and a memory card by the card slot and how fast the camera writes when you film. Here you will also find cables, card readers, remote controls, drone accessories and cleaning for lenses and sensors.

What to buy first for a new camera
A camera straight out of the box is rarely complete for a real day of shooting. If we could pick three things to buy along with the camera, it would be a spare battery, a second memory card and a blower with a microfibre cloth. They cost little next to the camera and save more shooting days than any lens.
After that come the things that make everyday life easier: a card reader so you do not have to plug the camera into the computer, and an external drive for backups. The rest depends on how you shoot. Video shooters need power and cables for the rig, landscape photographers a remote release, and drone pilots filters and a landing pad.
Nearly everything in this category has to fit your particular gear. Batteries, chargers, caps and eyecups are made for specific models. Always check the model name in the description, and ask us if you are unsure.

Power: batteries, chargers and cables
Camera batteries from Hähnel, SmallRig and Ricoh/Pentax are available for most major camera brands, and for video there are bigger NP-F and V-Mount batteries that run a whole rig. How to find the right battery from its code, and what the capacity figures mean, is covered under batteries.
Chargers range from simple single-type chargers to twin and four-channel models, plate systems that move with you to a new camera, and power banks built for camera work. Cables cover everything from studio tether cables and fast USB-C leads to dummy batteries and D-Tap for running the camera on external power.
Memory cards and card readers

We stock SD, microSD, CFexpress and CF from Lexar and Transcend, from basic cards to the fastest ones for 8K video. The markings on the cards, and the speed video needs, are explained in our memory card guide.
A card reader is the step many people skip and later regret. It empties cards faster than the camera does and saves the camera battery. Readers come for one card type or several, and CFexpress needs a reader for the right type.
External drives and USB sticks

An external SSD is the drive to edit from and take on the road, while an external hard drive gives cheaper storage for backups and archives. We carry both from Lexar and Transcend, along with rugged and encrypted models and Lexar's Workflow system with readers and SSDs in one hub.
USB sticks suit handing over pictures or moving them between computers, and those with both USB-A and USB-C work with phones too. As your only backup they are too easy to lose.
Remote releases and drone accessories
A remote release takes the picture without you touching the camera. You need one for long Bulb exposures, for shots where the moment has to be picked to the second, and when you want to be in the picture yourself. We have cable releases for the major brands and wireless ones using radio or Bluetooth, some with video control or a link to NiSi's app for ND filters.
For drones we mainly carry NiSi filters, each made for a specific drone model, and SmallRig's landing pad and landing gear that protect the motors and gimbal at take-off and landing.
Cleaning, caps and protection
Cleaning gear from Zeiss and NiSi covers blowers, cloths, spray and wet wipes for lenses, filters, viewfinders and sensors. How to clean step by step, and when the sensor is better left to a workshop, is in our cleaning guide.
Caps and covers are the small parts that disappear first: front and rear lens caps, caps for NiSi filter holders, hot shoe covers and viewfinder eyecups. Nearly all of them are made for a particular lens, system or camera.
Scanning and printing
If you have old negatives, slides or cine film, Kodak's film scanners and digitisers turn them into digital files without a computer. You will also find dye sublimation cartridges with paper and colour for Kodak's photo printers, in several sizes.
The brands we sell across the category include Lexar, Transcend, SmallRig, Hähnel, NiSi, Zeiss, Ricoh/Pentax, Feelworld and Kodak.
Frequently asked questions about accessories
Which photo accessories does a new camera need?
Start with a spare battery, a second memory card and a blower with a microfibre cloth. Then a card reader and an external drive for backups. The rest depends on what you shoot: video, landscapes or from a drone.
Do accessories from other brands fit my camera?
Yes, as long as they are made for your model. Batteries from Hähnel and SmallRig replace the camera's original batteries, and memory cards and readers follow shared standards. Always check the model name in the description.
What matters most to bring on a photo trip?
Spare batteries and a charger that runs from USB-C, several memory cards and a way to back up, such as a small SSD. A cloth and a blower take up almost no space and save a lot of pictures.
How often should I clean my camera?
When it needs it, not as a routine. Blow off dust after days on the beach or in the wind, and wipe off fingerprints when you see them. The sensor only needs cleaning when spots show up in your pictures.
