An on-camera monitor with a 5.5 inch screen, 3000 nit brightness, and HDMI connectivity.

Screen and image quality

The panel is a Full HD IPS screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a pixel density of 368 PPI. With a brightness of 3000 nits, the screen is clearly visible in sunlight without a sunshade. The contrast ratio is 1000:1 and the colour gamut follows sRGB and Rec.709. An integrated light sensor automatically adjusts the brightness based on the environment. Settings are controlled via the touch screen using tap and swipe gestures.

Signals and imaging tools

Both the input and output are HDMI and handle 4K signals up to 30 Hz. Audio is routed through a stereo earphone output. For precise exposure and focus, tools such as waveform, vectorscope, RGB histogram, and focus assist are available. The monitor supports HDR monitoring as well as 3D LUT for Log to Rec.709 and can store up to 50 custom 3D LUTs. A built-in fan and cooling holes manage the system temperature.

Power and mounting

The battery mount on the rear accepts Sony NP-F series batteries, including models F970, F960, F950, F930, F770, F750, F730, F570, F550, and F530. An F970 battery at 7.4 V provides approximately 2.5 hours of operating time. The rear features an external mounting and power kit for Sony F970 that can power accessories such as LED lights or wireless transmission. A 12 V DC input is available for fixed power, and an 8 V DC output can power a DSLR or mirrorless camera via a separate battery adapter cable and DC coupler for NP-FW50, LP-E6, and DMW-BLF19 models.
