SmallRig 4316 Cage "Night Eagle" for Nikon Z 8

This cage is designed for the Nikon Z 8 and protects the camera body from scratches with integrated pads.

Mounting and access

The cage attaches to the camera via a three-point locking system using a 1/4″-20 screw at the bottom and an M2.5 screw on each side. The design ensures unobstructed access to the battery door, flip screen, card slots, and buttons. It is compatible with the Nikon WR-R11a remote control.

Mounting points and accessories

Available mounting interfaces include 1/4″-20 and 3/8″-16 threaded holes, as well as ARRI 3/8″-16 holes for accessories such as top handle 3765, side handles 2093 and 3814, and monitor mounts 2903 and 2904. The 1/4″-20 side holes fit the Single Rod Clamp 3598 and Magic Arm 3873. A NATO rail on the left side allows for the quick attachment of side handles 3847 and 4017. For straps, there are dedicated holes for models 3848 and 2456, plus a QD socket.

The bottom features an Arca-Swiss quick release plate compatible with Arca-type tripods and DJI RS 2, RSC 2, and RS 3 Pro stabilisers. A removable cold shoe mount for microphones or LED lights includes a positioning pin to prevent rotation. The cage weighs 182 g and comes with a dual-function tool.
