SmallRig 3940 Cage for Nikon Z 8

A cage for the Nikon Z 8 that protects the camera body and provides multiple mounting points for accessories without obstructing access to the buttons.

Mounting and attachments

The camera is secured using a 1/4″-20 screw at the bottom, a locating screw, and a side lock adapter on the right side. For accessories, the cage features a 1/4″-20 threaded hole, a 3/8″-16 threaded hole, and an ARRI 3/8″-16 mounting hole. These supports are compatible with side handles 2093 and 3814, top handle 3765, monitor mounts 2903 and 2904, Manfrotto plates 1280 and 2458, power bank holder 2336, and mini V-mount battery plate 2987.

The side includes 1/4″-20 holes for the Single Rod Clamp 3598 and Magic Arm 3873. A NATO rail on the left side allows for quick connection to side handles 3847 and 4017. A cold shoe is available for microphones and LED video lights, and the cage includes mounts for hand straps 3848 and 2456 as well as QD mounts for QD strap buckles.

Quick release and weight

The integrated Arca-Swiss quick-release plate at the bottom is compatible with Arca-type tripods and heads, as well as DJI RS 2, RSC 2, RS 3, RS 3 Pro, RS 4, RS 4 Pro, and RS 5 gimbals. The cage weighs 203 g and uses an Arca plate. A tool for assembly and disassembly is included.
