SmallRig 5493 Camera Battery Charger for NP-FW50

SmallRig 5493 Camera Battery Charger for NP-FW50

A charger for Sony NP-FW50 batteries that supports both original and third-party batteries. It features two charging slots and can charge two batteries simultaneously in approximately 2 hours.

Connectivity and indication

Charging is handled via a USB-C input with 5 V/2.2 A (11 W max) and a USB-C fast-charging port (22.5 W). It is compatible with wall adapters, car chargers and power banks. The nominal output per channel is 8.4 V/0.5 A. Five LED lights per channel indicate the battery level in 20 % increments, which also works without a power supply. A red warning light illuminates when the battery level is critically low. When using a 5 V/1 A adapter, channel 1 is prioritised first, switching to channel 2 once the first battery is fully charged.

Safety and features

Built-in circuits monitor temperature and voltage to provide protection against overheating and over-voltage. Charging automatically slows down during overheating and power is cut off in case of over-voltage. Maintenance charging is used when the battery is nearly full to preserve battery health. The charger weighs 32 g.

Supplied with a 60 W USB-C to USB-C cable of 1 metre.
