Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Ultra Macro APO Lens

A 100 mm macro lens with f/2.8 for full-frame sensors offering 2:1 magnification. It can also focus to infinity, allowing it to serve as a portrait lens. This is the second member of the Laowa 2:1 macro line-up following the Laowa 60 mm f/2.8 2:1 Macro.

Optics and image quality

The construction consists of 12 elements in 10 groups. The apochromatic APO design minimises chromatic aberration and colour fringing in both in-focus and out-of-focus areas. The angle of view is 24.4°. Depending on the version, the aperture has between 7 and 13 blades, providing smooth background blur.

Focus and magnification

The minimum focusing distance is 24.7 cm at a maximum magnification of 2:1. Focus is set manually for precision during macro and portrait work. The lens covers full-frame sensors and can reproduce subjects at twice their life-size.

Construction and dimensions

The barrel is built from robust metal for professional use. The filter thread is 67 mm and the weight ranges between 638 g and 650 g. The length is between 125 mm and 155 mm with a diameter of 72 mm.
