Laowa 17mm f/1.8 MFT Lens – MFT
A 17 mm fixed wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture for the Micro Four Thirds system. The focal length is equivalent to 34 mm on a full-frame sensor and provides a 65° angle of view. The optics are optimised for the M43 system.
Optics and aperture
The construction consists of 9 elements in 7 groups, including one Super ED extra-low dispersion glass element to reduce ghosting and flare. The aperture features 7 rounded blades that produce sunstars in out-of-focus highlights and a shallow depth of field. Focus is adjusted manually.
Minimum focus and magnification
The minimum focusing distance is 15 cm and the maximum magnification is 1:5. This allows for close-up shots with a shallow depth of field.
Construction and dimensions
The lens weighs 172 g and measures 55 mm in diameter and 51 mm in length. It has an M4/3 mount and is compatible with DJI X5 cameras for aerial photography. It features a 46 mm filter thread.
