Print preservation is extended by converting metallic silver into a more stable and archival silver selenide. When used with warm-tone papers, it produces cool chocolate brown shades, while neutral-tone papers result in purple-brown tones. On cold-tone papers, the effect is very small or non-existent. This toner can also be used with black and white film.
Dilution and effect
A dilution of 1:3 is used for maximum toning effect. To protect prints, a dilution of 1:20 is recommended. To increase shadow contrast and achieve maximum density with minimal tone change, a dilution of 1:20 or 1:40 is used.
